OFW Association Brings Joy to San Antonio Day Care Learners
The Santo Tomas OFW Association spread happiness to the little learners of San Antonio Day Care Centers through a Feeding Program and Coloring Book Distribution held recently.
Mayor Dickerson D. Villar joined the activity to show his full support for the association’s initiative. With a warm smile, he encouraged the children to always be kind and to start the habit of saving through their piggy banks—simple yet valuable lessons for building a brighter future.
In his message, the Mayor expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Santo Tomas OFW Association for their voluntary efforts and genuine concern for the community, especially for the young children whom he described as the hope of the future.
The event was made even more memorable by the children’s laughter, their excitement over receiving new coloring books, and the heartfelt appreciation expressed by Day Care Worker Ms. Marjorie Florida.
Indeed, this meaningful activity proved that even small acts of care and kindness can leave lasting impacts on young hearts and minds..









LGU Santo Tomas Holds Successful Blood Donation Activity
On September 12, 2025, the Local Government Unit of Santo Tomas, in partnership with the Rural Health Unit, successfully conducted a Blood Donation Activity at the Amang Timot People’s Public Auditorium. The initiative was actively participated in by municipal officials and employees, non-government organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and various stakeholders who generously gave their time and effort to support the noble cause.
In his message, Mayor Dickerson D. Villar, together with Vice Mayor Timoteo “Dick” S. Villar III, encouraged Tomasinos to heed the call to save lives through voluntary blood donation. They extended their gratitude to all donors, recognizing them as true modern-day heroes who provide hope and life to those in need.
The activity underscored the LGU’s strong commitment to health, compassion, and community solidarity by ensuring that safe blood is made available for patients in need. With the support of volunteers and partner organizations, the event demonstrated the power of collective action in making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Local People’s Council Election 2025–2028 Successfully Held in Santo Tomas
The election of the Local People’s Council in the Municipality of Santo Tomas for Fiscal Year 2025–2028 was successfully conducted today. The Council plays a vital role in advancing participatory governance by ensuring that different sectors of the community are represented in local decision-making. This initiative highlights the Local Government Unit’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaboration with its constituents, paving the way for inclusive growth and sustainable progress.
Following the election, the reelected Council President, Mr. Michael Lardizabal, together with Sub-Secretary Ms. Marites Notario and Sub-Treasurer Mr. Pepito Arciaga, paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Dickerson D. Villar. They were accompanied by Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Ms. Marilou Ortiz.
During the meeting, the officers presented the Council’s goals and outlined their future projects, reaffirming their dedication to strengthening people’s participation and promoting community development in Santo Tomas









Corn Farmers of Santo Tomas Empowered Through the Corn Production Enhancement Program
Corn farmers from ten barangays of Santo Tomas received agricultural assistance consisting of 250 bags of corn seeds, 250 bags of fertilizers, and 250 packs of N Bio Fertilizer under the Corn Production Enhancement Program (CPEP) of the Department of Agriculture. The program aims to increase productivity and ensure food security among farming communities.
In his message during the distribution, Mayor Dickerson D. Villar shared future plans and projects that are geared toward uplifting the lives of Tomasian farmers. Together with Vice Mayor Timoteo “Dick” S. Villar III, and with the support of the Municipal Agriculture Office, the Local Government Unit (LGU) assures that no Tomasian farmer will be left behind.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the local government for continuously addressing their needs and supporting their livelihood through programs and initiatives designed to strengthen the agricultural sector of Santo Tomas.









Mayor Villar and LGU Santo Tomas Officials Meet DILG Secretary Remulla to Seek Support for Firetruck and Standard Fire Station

Santo Tomas, Pangasinan – Mayor Dickerson D. Villar and Vice Mayor Timoteo “Dick” S. Villar III, together with Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Marilou Ortiz and representatives from the Local Government Unit of Santo Tomas, met with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” C. Remulla to formally submit a request for a new firetruck and to follow up on the construction of a standard fire station for the municipality.
The dialogue served as a great opportunity for local leaders to directly engage with the national government, underscoring the shared commitment of both local and national leadership in ensuring the safety and security of Tomasinos.
Secretary Remulla warmly received the delegation and expressed support for initiatives that will further strengthen peace, order, and disaster preparedness in Santo Tomas. The visit highlighted the unified vision of service and progress from the local to national level, aimed at building a safer and more resilient community.







Mayor Dickerson D. Villar Elected Vice President of External Affairs of LMP–Pangasinan Chapter
CALASIAO, PANGASINAN – The League of the Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) – Pangasinan Chapter elected its new set of officers for the term 2025 to 2028 during its assembly and election held on August 15, 2025, in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
Among the newly elected officials is Mayor Dickerson Dauz Villar of Santo Tomas, who now serves as Vice President for External Affairs of the chapter. His election marks another milestone in his public service career, giving him the opportunity to represent and strengthen the ties of Pangasinan municipalities with external partners and agencies.
Mayor Villar, together with the rest of the officers, officially took their oath of office, pledging to work towards greater progress, unity, and development across the province.
The new set of LMP–Pangasinan Chapter officers is led by Mayor Jeremy Agerico “Ming” Rosario of Manaoag as President, alongside other municipal leaders elected to key positions.
The Local Government of Santo Tomas extends its warmest congratulations to Mayor Villar and to all the newly elected officers of the LMP–Pangasinan Chapter. Their collective leadership is expected to pave the way for stronger collaboration and enhanced services for every Pangasinense.








BFAR Conducts Capability Enhancement Training for Sto. Tomas Fisherfolk
SANTO TOMAS, Pangasinan — The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) – Regional Fisheries Office I successfully conducted a Capability Enhancement Training for the beneficiaries of Barangay San Jose, Santo Tomas, Pangasinan on August 12–13, 2025 under the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program.
Prior to the activity, BFAR officials and partners — Juniel Fermin Raguindin (Community Development Officer), Argel Cacho (Aquaculturist I), Antonieta Evangelista (OIC-Provincial Fishery Officer, Pangasinan), Obhemar Aspan (Area Coordinator), and Windell Retuta (President of Paspas San Jose Grains and Fisherfolk Association) — paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Dickerson D. Villar, assisted by OIC-Municipal Agriculturist Khristina Leodeth Gagote.
Discussions centered on the program and other upcoming initiatives aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills, and livelihood opportunities of local fisherfolk.Mayor Villar expressed his strong commitment to extend the same level of support to the fishing community as he does to the farmers, with the vision of making the local fisheries industry broader, stronger, and more sustainable.
